About the Champion Schools Program

The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey is excited to announce our 2nd Annual U Got Brains Champion Schools Program for the 2011-2012 school year. This year 29 high schools throughout the state are developing teen driving safety programs in a fun, interactive and competitive contest. Two grand prize winners will be chosen and will be awarded driving simulators for their schools. Check out this year's Champion Schools.

What is the U Got Brains Champion Schools Program?

It is an opportunity for students and staff of New Jersey high schools to develop and execute campaigns to address teen driving safety.

Each school will develop its own project based on a topic the school chooses pertaining to teen driving safety. We are looking for creative and cutting edge projects that will raise awareness and make an impact on new drivers. You can utilize social media, videos, blogs, traditional media or other means to help spread your message.

Some ideas include sending messages via text messaging, blogging, morning school announcements, developing safe driving slogan for t-shirts for classmates to wear, bracelets, making videos and posting on YouTube, etc. Your imagination is the only limit!

There are just a few rules - so read them carefully!

Why we need your help...

  1. In New Jersey, a teen crashes every 10 minutes.
  2. Car crashes are the #1 cause of death and disability in teens.
  3. One teen dies each week on New Jersey's roads.

This program is funded by the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety with support from founding sponsor New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company, The Allstate Foundation, The DCH Foundation and the Council on Brain Injury.
